Summer
Hi everybody. Motorcity Nightmares has a cool summer promotion going on. Every Thursday this summer, a horror double feature will be shown at the Imagine Canton theater at 8 p.m. For more details, go to MotorcityNightmares.com. Also, I just caught the movie Inception and I loved it. Newsflash : Famous Monsters of Filmland , the wonderful horror magazine from your childhood, is back on newstands. IDW Publishing has started reissuing the magazine, starting with issue 251. Definitely something you should try to pick up.
Hope you're all having a great summer!

News Items
There's a new issue of Mad Scientist out. It's $5 plus shipping and handling. Google it for more info. Joe Hill has a new book out, Horns. I haven't read it yet but am really looking forward to it. I did read Stephen King's Under the Dome and just loved it. It's his best book since The Stand. Cultpop.com is currently featuring Jim Hines and John Scalzi. While you're there, make sure to watch the episode with horror artist Brom!

Caught the movie Wolfman and was underwhelmed but really looking forward to Clash of the Titans and Shutter Island.  To get a great movie going experience in southeastern Michigan, check out the Redford Theater. Old movies and a pipe organ in a restored 1920's theater. Pretty cool. For those interested in underground cinema, google the Burton Theater in the Wayne State District in Detroit.

So what's new with you guys?

It's Been A While
Hello again. Sorry it's been so long since my last post. I was married in April and have been very busy. There's been a lot of great movies this summer and I'm going to the midnight showing of District 9 tonight. I have also rented The Mutant Chronicles. Have you seen anything good?

For books, I finished The Strain and really enjoyed it. I'm also in the middle of two by F.Paul Wilson and Marcus Sakey.

Hope the summer is treating you well and I will check back soon. Don't forget to check out Cult-Pop.com

Quick Post
Hi guys. I recently caught a movie that was great fun. It's already out of theaters so you'llll need to pick it up on DVD. The movie is Outlander, and without any spoilers I'll just say an ALIEN lands in the 1400's.

Richard K. Morgan also has a new novel out and it's a fantasy. His sci-fi work is amazing so I'm interested in reading this book too.

The Wire, Lost, and The Watchmen
Happy New Year!
I was lucky enough to watch all five seasons of The Wire in November and December. I wish I would have watched from the beginning because the show is easily one of my all time favorites. Speaking of favorites, while you have the chance, catch up with Lost. Seasons 1-4 are available on DVD and 5 starts in a week or so.

Looking for some good reads? Pick up The Watchmen trade  graphic novel. It remains on of the best graphic novels or comic stories stories of all time. Read it prior to the movie release in March. I am currently reading a very cool comic from Image Comics called The Sword. As for novels, I just finished the new Predator novel by Jeff Vandermeer and it is a must read for fans. I will start Jim Hines' The stepsister Scheme next. After that, its on to the new ones from Stephen Kind and Cherie Priest.

Hellride, Splinter, and Dr Pepper
Hi guys. If you haven't done so already, stop by Tobias Buckell's website and send him a get well wish.

I caught a movie on DVD that might be of interest. Hellride is a wild biker film that I found pretty good . Also, for  those of you with On Demand on your cable, check out the horror movie Splinter. It reminded me of The Thing and for a low budget  film, I really enjoyed it. Also, visit www.subterraneanpress.com for some free horror and fantasy stories. And, a big thanks to Axl and the new G&R album for the free Dr Pepper. That's pretty damn cool!
Have a great Thanksgiving!

New Magazines
Hi folks. I want to bring two very cool small press magazines to your attention; Mad Scientist and Morpheus Tales.  MS features great stories about old horror and science fiction movies and comics and is a perfect read for any fan of Midnight Creature Feature. Morpheus Tales features original stories and art and my friend Mike Wooley's art is featured in the first 2 issues. Take the time to visit both websites, and consider purchasing the magazines.
