Hi guys. Make sure you visit the new website for Cult Pop, linked off the main page or at www.Cult-Pop.com. Episodes 2-9 can be seen. By way of quick reviews, I just finished Michael Marshall's The Intruder. His stuff is really creepy. You can also check out his earlier novel, Strawmen. Geek Monthly magazine appears to be back on track and publishing again. Cheers! |

Hi guys. It looks like summer is almost over, although I bet we still have some very hot days in September. If you are looking for a great end of summer read, check out Marcus Sakey's new book, "The Blade Itself." It's a great thriller that reminds me of Elmore Leonard. Also, I have been rereading some of William Browning Spencer's books. I can't recommend his work enough. "Zod Wallop" and "Resume With Monsters" are must reads.
A quick reminder that the new Cult Pop is airing now and features author Mark Terry and Marvelous Marvin's Mechanical Museum. The show was great fun. Try to catch it on Channel 20 downriver. |

Hi folks a couple of quick movie reviews. Melissa and I just caught "Stardust" and we both loved it. "Stardust" was great on a few levels. It was a fun adventure, a nice love story, and it had great comic moments. "Superbad" will hit theaters this weekend and is sure to be an instant classic. As far as DVDs, i stumbled across "Perfect Creature" at blockbuster. It's an interesting horror movie; part "steam punk" and part vampire story. Very interesting, and another great import from our friends in New Zealand. Oh, one last thing. If you're looking for a cool magazine to read, check out "Geek Monthly."

Hi Folks, just a couple of quick hits. I am currently reading The Serpent's Kiss by Mark Terry. TSK is a relentless action packed thriller, and is set in Metro Detroit. Very cool indeed. Pick the book up and look for my interview with Mark in late August on Cult Pop. Also, I just started Emma Bull's Territory and it seems very interesting. Also check out the sci-fi horror magazine APEX, this month featuring an interview and short story by Cherie Priest. I really like her writing, so check it out. As far a movies, i am rally looking forward to Stardust. It looks like a lot of fun and is based on a Neil Gaiman novel, so it could be great!

Hi Folks today Transformers opens, and it sure looks like a lot of fun. I will catch it soon and let you know what I think. Speaking of movies, I wanted to give a heads up on a great film series at the DIA. Creature Double Features will be going on every Saturday in July at the Detroit Film Theatre. For example, you can catch a great double feature July 21st of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and Godzilla VS. The Sea Monster. Make some time to catch some of these sci fi classics. | Hello everyone. I couldn't sleep the other night so I reread Get In The Van by Henry Rollins. Get In The Van is a tour diary of the last tour of the band Black Flag. The book is great on many levels. First, it is just a fun road diary recounting the crazy lives of a small band on tour. Second, it captures the angst of a then young man, Henry Rollins, and his fears of failure, women, and life. His struggles with band life and life on the road still ring true 17 years after its publication. I have passed Get In The Van on to many friends over the years and they all have been impressed by it. I highly recommend picking it up. You can still get it at local bookstores or find it on Amazon.com. |

| Hi everyone. Summer is right around the corner and if you are looking for some good summer reads, I have some suggestions. Brad Meltzer's THE BOOK OF FATE is now available in paperback. Two of my favorite authors, Tobias Buckell and John Scalzi both have new books out also. Elmore Leonard just came out with a new novel. So, a lot out there. Let me know what you're reading. |

Hi folks. I read that Sir Graves Ghastly (Lawson J. Denning) passed away April 24th, 2007 at the age of 94. As a kid I loved Sir Graves Ghastly and the scary movies he would host. In fact I produce Midnight Creature Feature in hopes that some of the fun I had as a kid is passed along to new generations of horror movie fans. Thanks for the years of fun Sir Graves, and rest in peace.
